Calculus Video Tip - Essentials of Calculus in 10 Minutes (May 2011)
In this Calculus Video Tip, we teach the essential topic in calculus 1 known as the derivative. We conquer this topic completely graphically without any need for equations so that any student will be able to completely understand the topic.
Summary: In calculus, we seek to be able to find the slope of any graph at any point. For lines this is easy because the slope is constant, but this is more difficult for "curvy" functions. In calculus, we learn how to find the slope of any point on any graph, which leads to a great variety of tools to solve complicated problems in science, engineering, and beyond!
